Woah, this feeling is incredible! 9 days of cycling, networking, discussing, sleeping together in a big tent, nice and joyful people. I love you all!

Please feel free to add metadata to flickr pictures such as people and places you recognize.

P.S. It was a great feeling to have a talk with all of you who are actually reading my blog. My respect! 🙂
P.S.S. In total I cycled 677 km in 56 hours.

Hi, I’m thinking of doing this route in the summer. Did you find any bike hire companies who would entertain one way hire, either way? Regards Mike

Hi Dace, this sounds amazing! Is it possible to hire bikes to do this and drop them off in Copenhagen?

    • Dace says:

I didn’t find that kind of service, but you can ask the rent companies would they agree. Maybe it is possible to send the bike back by post.

Hi Dace, me and a friend are thinking of cycling from copenhagen to berlin this summer, but when we checked it out most people seem to recommend doing it in the opposite direction, from berlin to copenhagen. Do you know if there is a reason for this? Is it mostly uphill one way or something?

    • Dace says:

Hi there! Thank you for the interest. Germany is hillier than Denmark. So you can choose whether you want to have a little harder ride in the beginning or at the ending. There was only one day which seemed to be difficult for me. But if the bike is good then there should be no problem. For altitude you can check the yellow diagram on the right side of the page. Click on it and then again to see it larger.

You can also buy a detailed map for this trip and guess what – the information will be given for the direction Berlin-Copenhagen. But don’t worry – the root is really great, the infrastructure is good and everywhere will be biking signs.

The ride is totally worth it! Enjoy it! 😉

P.S. In the beginning of June it is possible to have a swim in the lakes, the water was really warm and refreshing.

Dace! It was so much fun cycling and singing with you. Your blog is superb and I will miss the sight of your skirt weaving in and out of your spokes as you careen ahead with a smile. You are an inspiration!
